Growth spurt or grazing??? Any advice please?!

My LO is 3 weeks 2 days and had a big growth spurt at 2 weeks that lasted 3/4 days.... He then settled back down to 3 hours between feeds but as of last night, he seems to want feeding every 1 1/2 to 2 hours and is very restless.

He is exclusively breastfed, could this be another growth spurt or is he grazing for some reason?

Has anyone had a similar thing? Help would be appreciated :)

He's growing all the time at this stage - learning to smile, to interact, to try to move more.

Plus it's nuzzles with you :)

His belly is still tiny, so he needs to eat little and often. I remember with both my kids being astonished at just how much they bf all the time, all the time, all the time, but looking back on it it was magical.

Try to just go with the flow and let him feed when he wants. Trying to 'train' him will just lead to your milk supply being weak, will upset him, and will make life harder for you overall. Just feeding him is so handy, will become second nature soon enough.

Thank you for your reply! I'm defo not trying to train him but I just worry that I'm feeding him when he's fussing and maybe he's not fussing because he's hungry but something else? He latches on like he's absolutely starving so I'm sure he wouldn't bother if it wasn't hunger? It's so confusing trying to make sure I'm doing the right thing!!

In my experience (I breastfed both my kids a year each) if in doubt then just feed them. It cures many things - hunger, gives comfort, helps them to sleep.
