Hi op

It's really normal for s baby his age to get horribly distracted. Ds1 at three months went from long feeds to three minutes tops, and the fighting screaming to get down, and refusing to feed any longer. It was unnerving. Yet he didn't lose weight, just kept on gaining despite all the short feeds, helped by the fact that he still feed normally at night. That was my clue to what was going on - that he fed a lot better at night, out around naps, when tired and no other distractions around.

So my advice is don't be freaked out into offering bottles instead, keep offering often but funny push him to feed any longer than he wants to, and make the most of sleepy nap and night time feeds. And measure his intake by his wig gains, not by feed lengths , for month old babies cab get s fair amount in a short time.

Grin Grin at 'measure his intake by his wig gains'......my mind is boggling!!:) :)

(presuming you mean 'weight' there, I agree!)

Funny = don't
Wig = weight
Cab = can
S= a

Bloody phone!

I'd also recommend the Kelly mom page on Distracted Babies, lots of tips on how to encourage them to feed and reassurance that it is normal.
