Gets easier, right?

I have a week old DD who is breastfeeding. My DS (now 2) was a Hoover and would drop off to sleep immediately after a feed whereas DD is a bit less efficient and takes her time to get to sleep.

I have lots of milk (when she's been on for an hour and a half, I can usually express 100ml in about 10 mins which I give her if she is still unsettled). It's just that I've worked out that she's spending 7 hours solely on the breast over 24 hours.

It gets easier (and quicker), no? I feel like DS is being neglected a bit and I could do with more sleep.

It does get easier! I only have one son, but remember the many many hours sat on the sofa constantly feeding in the early days. Will get better.

It gets so much easier and better!! Once your baby masters how to do it and is happier in the outside world, they'll get quicker. Well done and keep going you're doing an amazing job!

Thanks both. I think I'm finding it harder this time because I can't devote myself solely to feeding, which I probably did last time.

She's so new! She's just learning what to do. Some babies feed take well straight away, others are a bit clueless! At least you have lots of milk for her which is great!
You could concentrate solely on feeding when you only had one...now that you have two it's a completely different story so maybe that's why you're finding it different this time.

Oh yes it gets easier! Our worst day DD cluster fed from 2pm-10pm with me having a one handed dinner and her screaming whenever I went to the loo/put my pjs on! Now at 6 months it's 5-10 minutes each side.

Thanks all. I think I'd forgotten what it was like in the early days with DS.

Had a bit more sleep and managed to take them both to a playground this morning so feel a bit more as though I'm coping.
