Is this reflux? Please help, am desperate...

DD is 6 weeks old and will not sleep in her Moses basket, only on me. I can transfer her to the basket asleep but within 10 mins she will start grunting which will then turn into full-on screams (like she's in pain, rather than normal crying). Once she's upright again she's fine. This happens more at night than in the day.

Some nights I end up holding her all night, so am getting no sleep at all. It seems to be getting worse...

Have tried raising the top of the basket, and she's on infant gaviscon (4 sachets in 24 hours). She's also very sicky. Is this reflux? Should I ask for ranitidine? Or is it some kind of sleep problem that I've created?

I'm completely at the end of my tether - any advice appreciated

could be reflux...

if she is on formula, change it to 'comfort' or 'staydown' milk and see how she goes

Should have said - she's BF

Sounds like reflux to me. Ranitidine could make a significant difference - I would try it

I have a docs appointment on mon so will see if ranitidine is an option then - but have been to GP about a million times and only just got the gaviscon. First two docs told me it was colic and to tough it out. Third one told me it was over feeding and to bottle feed for a week. Arrrgh.
