breastfeeding and brushing teeth

perhaps a silly question...

DS now has one tiny tooth. We're getting into the habit of brushing it in the morning and every night in the bath. But then he has a breastfeed just before bed and also during the night. Should I be brushing his tooth after his bedtime feed? Does the lactose in the milk rot teeth?

Night breastfeeding isn't a problem, although some people will tell you it is. A bottle would be different. Carry on, you're doing fine.

Hi suzi, I thought I'd give you a link to the other thread I posted on tonight here as it's similar. That's my views anyway, HTH

Don't really know the answer, but dd2 has 12 teeth now and I still give her breastfeed before bed (and after brushing teeth).

I asked my dentist about this when dd was about 18 months - dentist said not to worry too much.
