How do you get time to yourself?

If you have a young ebf baby that doesn't take a bottle/cup, do you get any time to yourself? How do you do it? Especially if your baby feeds regularly?

I think that bit is really hard!

When DD was tiny I used to get DH to take her for an hour every morning before he went to work so I could have a long bath, eat breakfast, get dressed and brush my teeth. That bit of time to myself kept me sane!

Now it feels like it was such a short period of time but I remember being so frustrated. It gets so much easier once they are a little bit older, especially when the cluster feeding ends and you get your evenings back. How are you finding it?

I remember it well.

I used to be glued to the sofa for hours as dd would feed and sleep and feed and sleep and feed and sleep . . . (She woke the moment I put her down)

The tv remote, my ipod, plenty of drinks and copious amounts of chocolate were my sanity savers.

I wish I had tried a sling as that may have given me more freedom - worth a try.

At risk of sounding clichéd: it does get easier. I actually miss those cuddles now although I'd have slapped anyone who might have suggested that at the time

I got practically no time to myself in any meaningful way until DD was about 4.5 months old. And that was in part only because she began taking ebm from a doidy cup, so I could leave her for more than 1.5 hrs.

Prior to that, echoing a pp, DH would do a lot in the mornings before he went to work so I could shower, get my shit together, etc.

But it does get better! I've even had a couple of nights out recently (DD is 6mo) - something I couldn't have imagined doing about a month or so ago.
