Bugger only the boob will do- comfort feeding

I've fed my dd on demand she's now almost 9 months when she's 11 months I'll be going back to work. I'm starting to worry as whenever she's really upset I've comfort fed her to calm her- she won't have a dummy so uses me as one but I'm worried about how she will call down when I'm not around?!
I know I'm daft for getting into this situation but any ideas how to get some soothing routines in place within next 3 months?! Please

Mine did the same, if I was available no-one else would do. But, if someone else was doing the comforting then that was fine. She took a bit longer to settle for dp in those situations, but she did and yours will do the same.

And don't feel down about the using you for comfort - that is one of the most important bits about b/feeding. And one of the ultimate joys - teething/grumpy/hurt/tired/tantrumming baby - shove a boob in the mouth, peace & harmony restored Grin

If you want a prop though, you could get her a special soft toy (and an identical spare) and shove that in her hand as you comfort feed her, she will learn to associate the toy with the comfort, which will help when you're not about

Good idea I will try that. And you are right it's so lovely that I able to calm her
