Breast feeding and pms

Hi. I was hoping someone out there has experienced a similar thing. I have never had a problem with my periods. Every 25 days and no real issues. But since having my second child. She is 17m. Still breast feeding her a couple times a day. She was 9m when my period returned. Every month a week before my period is due I turn into a irritable, grumpy angry mess. Anything no matter how small sets me off. It's got to the point that it's affecting my marriage. My husband is such a lovely man. So chilled out. But he told me this week he feels like he is walking a tight rope He can't do anything right. ( my period is due at the weekend). So I guess I want to know if breast feeding can cause these feelings. I didn't have this problem with my first child. But I there is a big age gap between 1&2.

Oh no! I'm not sure about the breastfeeding/PMS link but have had horrendous PMS for years (I am GHASTLY).

Things that really helped me are: evening primrose oil (lots), vitamin B6, and paying really careful attention to my diet in the week before I'm due (no processed food, refined sugar, salt, caffeine etc.) Admittedly the last one is not easy.

PMS seems to get worse as we get older. I don't think breastfeeding would make it worse.
