Dropping feeds at 8 months?

My ds has only been having 2 breastfeeds a day since I returned to work at 6 months. He has all but given up milk during the day as he now has 3 full meals a day instead. My plan was to breast feed him up to a year but he has started being very hard to breastfeed, especially in the morning. He just wants to get up and play - he gets very frustrated on the breast. 8 months seems very early to be only on 1 milk feed a day. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

ds went through a phase around 8/9 months of not wanting to bfeed much. I thought he was going to wean but I kept offering. I didn't go back to work until he was 11 months old though when milk 1-2 feeds a day seemed OK. 1 feed a does not seem much at this age

Does he feed at night? If you work full-time it may be difficult to get him feeding more as the only way I can suggest is just to keep offering.

Ds was never very bothered from this age until over a year old. Now at 18 months he only feeds twice a day but he loves those feeds and recently he was feeding a lot more often on the days I am home (I work 3 days a week)
