2week old thrush and tongue tie

Turns out our 2week old has a partial tongue tie and also just realised she has thrush which may explain the pain and some of the issues we've had.

I have an appt to sort the tt tuesday morning, and am hoping they can help re thrush at same time.

Any tips to see me through till tuesday?! Feeding is painful (sometimes bearable sometimes agony)... Should I take painkillers, use nipple shields, or try to get the thrush treated sooner by ooh doctor?

Thanks in advance!

Oh you poor thing! Would definitely take paracetamol if I were you (and not allergic obviously). This page has some advice on how to deal with thrush yourself (I found teatree oil in my bath helped) but I reckon I'd be tempted to go to OOH as well if I were you, it sounds miserable.

Hope you get it sorted soon. Flowers

Don't wait til tues as thrush will get worse in the meantime (meaning will be sorer and more difficult to shift). Phone out of hours and get treatment tonight/tomorrow. And take paracetamol/ibuprofen for the pain. (I took paracetamol and diclofenac but know not everyone can tolerate diclofenac ). Also make sure you change breast pads regularly/wash towels after 1 use etc etc. lots of advice on line if you google, but i found this useful. Good luck!

I think a new baby can use daktarin oral gel ( check with pharmacist), this can also be used on nipples. I feel your pain!
