boob imbalance

Dd (3 months) usually feeds on both sides and I alternate which boob she starts on but I seem to be getting an imbalance. My left boob feels and looks fuller. If we have any fussing its when she's on the right one as if it doesn't have as much milk or its harder for her to extract.
Is there anything I can do to even them back out (I don't want the left one to keep growing and the right one getting smaller until it's really obvious)
Should I offer the right one first so that the supply builds back up in there rather than alternating?
Thanks

To start with I think it's totally normal to have a bit of an imbalance (I certainly do). If you are making sure to alternate boobs and ensure each feed is roughly equal then I'm not sure that boob fullness/fussing is a very good indicator of supply. I've found that DC is happier feeding from one side than the other so always fusses more on the other side.

Hopefully tictok, badger or another expert will be along soon, but as I'm in a similar position I'm just making sure that on every feed from the less favoured boob that the latch is good, he eats really as much as he can (ie relatch if he pops off and doesn't seem satisfied) and breast compressions until I'm happy he's done a good job of emptying the boob. Then I offer the other if he's still hungry (sometimes he is, sometimes he isn't). I always offer the less favoured boob after he's eaten from the favoured boob and make sure he has something from it.

I had a big imbalance with the right side getting bigger and producing more milk. I was really worried about being left with one giant boob so tried to feed equally from both sides despite the difference in supply. That ended with a blocked duct and really swollen nipple on the right side. Now I just feed slightly more from the right and actually it's totally gone back to normal now and thankfully my boobs look the same again!

Thanks!
So you fed a bit more from the bigger one?
That is probably what I'm doing anyway - if fussing on the smaller one then I do switch to the other so will carry on - just hope I don't end up with one huge boob and a little empty one ;-) as it will look ridiculous!!!

I had a bigger right side as I only fed on that side at night Grin I tried to even it out by starting feeds from the left during the day. They sorted themselves out once I stopped breastfeeding.

Yeah I feed more from the bigger one, and now they've evened out in size. (To the extent that this morning my husband said "ooh your nipples look good" ...erm, thanks?)
