I have a 9 week old DS who is ebf.

For the last few weeks his poo has gone a bit weird. It's still yellow (although a darker yellow) but the consistency is different. Its really thick and sticky. I can't really compare it to anything exactly, but it's kind of like custard. It doesn't have any of the 'bits' in it that it's meant to have, if that makes sense? And it very bubbly.

Sorry about the disgusting description there!

I did ask the health visitor but she just said that itsfine as long as it's yellow but I'm not convinced.

Should I be worried about this? Oh and he has recently started to do a poo every 2/3 days. It used to be 100x a day. (well nearly)

I used to worry about LO poo, but it comes in a variety of colours, and textures. The bubbly thing is familiar, there is a reason for it, can't remember if it's too much air, of something in ur diet that causes it. Nothing wrong with it.

On baby centre uk there is a 'poo gallery' that I used to compare my lo's too, maybe a bit too much tmi, but useful if ur worried. I got told by HV as long as there is no blood, and not green, it's fine!

A poo gallery? Brilliant. Grin thank you, I'll take a look.

At around 2 months their digestion matures. They go from pooing round the clock to every few days. Some babies go for 3 weeks without a poo. As long as they are EBF it's fine as they assimilate the milk better.

Your baby is just very efficient and is not making much waste.
Sounds normal too me. My ds2 who is now six months old was just the same at that age.

All sounds normal to me too.

My DS is also 9 weeks and ebf, his poo is all sorts of textures and much less regular now (once every 3-4 days).
