Clicking noise when BF-ing

Completely new mum, my little boy is 8 weeks old. Feels like he feeds constantly! it's around every two hours at the moment. Frustratingly he was doing 5 hours in the night but in the last few days he's gone back to 3 hours in the night - I'm wondering if it's a growth spurt? But he also has started making a clicking noise when he feeds, as if he is missing a suck in his rhythm? He seems to be get very gassy and wondered if he is taking in too much air? Help please, tired mummy ;)

A clicking sound is usually one of the signs that a baby is not properly attached, because the suction keeps breaking. (which could also lead to air swallowing and burps)
Do you have a baby cafe or drop in centre nearby so you can get help adjusting things?

what mww said, everytime he makes the noise take him off by putting your little finger in the corner of his mouth and start from scratch latching him on. If it is possible to get a breastfeeding supporter to have a look for you it would help a lot, breastfeeding cafes and drop in are all based in the childrens centres here so that would be a good place to start.

My DD was clicking when feeding and it turned out she had a posterior tongue tie which was diagnosed at a BFing support group. No clicking and a better latch since she had it cut.

I'm not sure about the clicking but I'm jealous of your baby sleeping 3-5 hours! My little girl feeds every 2 hours in the day and every 2 and a half hours at night, like clockwork! She slept 5 hours once and very occasionally 3 hours when she first settles for the night!

Clicking is very often because of tongue and/or lip tie.
