Anti colic bottles leaking! What am I doing wrong?

Tommee tippee anti colic keep leaking. Making bottles up in recommended way and the milk keeps spurting out the rim of the bottle and drips alot.

What am I doing wrong?

You need to make sure that the clear plastice bit with the teat on is pushed into the white ring bit all the way round. I'm probably not describing that very well, but there is a ridge on the white bit, and a corresponding groove on the clear bit , so you need to press all the way round it, on the inside, in order to make a seal.

If they are anything like the dr brown ones then they just leak! So annoying!

They will leak. They aren't air tight. That's why they work, they have valves that allow the air out so baby doesn't swallow it. If you want to use anti colic bottles then there's not a lot you can do. It is annoying but worth it IMO.

I do press the top down but the hot milk shoots up the middle bit and out the side. Seems I will need a cloth handy everytime.

I had this with Dr Brown bottles too, that I was using for EBM, and DP (who is a geek scientist) told me it was because the milk was warm and was being drawn up the blue middle bit due to the heat and the lid being on, causing a vacuum. I started warming them with no lid on and less hot water and it sorted it out.

I have the same problem so annoying that we currently don't use them anymore!

So I’ve just figured this out. The anti colic bottles have that clear rubbery but at the bottom
Of the straw bit. Make sure that the little nobbely bit is pushed out. If it’s inside, the whole opens up and milk goes down it. Causing lots of leaking.
Sorry if my description isn’t clear. I’ll try again if you don’t understand.
I found out that when you use the little straw cleaner it pulls the rubber inside. So just make sure it’s out before sterilising.

Hey not sure if you already figured it out but if the water is too hot when putting it in the bottle it goes up the middle pipe and leaks

My baby is 4 weeks old & a couple days but since I've been home I've been using them little Walmart bottles with the disgins on them like the big ones but only the 5oz little ones . She's been eating fine on them will spit up sometimes an leak out her mouth some . But also when she eats you can hear it like hit her little tummy or something. So I switched too them tomme toppers bottles she don't spit up really but leaks out her mouth like crazy . I don't know if it's just from switching over too these new nipples an she has to learn how to use them or what.. I just wanna make sure it's normal an she actually eating out of the bottles instead of just leaking it all out or she's trying too get big mouth full an it just leaking out .. It's not the bottle leaking but she's such a porker anymore Lol I wanna make sure I'm doing it right first time mom over here can you tell Haha But she's also on 4 teaspoons every night of baby oatmeal with her formula an I but them in the bigger Walmart bottles the 9oz ones but only put 4oz of formula an her oats an she eats that fine either all of it or just leaves a couple ozs left. But it's just them new bottles I sit her up straight an everything but she will still pour it out her mouth I got them cause she has gas bad & you can hear it when she eats hit her tummy I figured they would be better then the 5oz little cheap bottles at Walmart I don't know Help please LOL
