Hi - not sure if I'm in the right place :) my lo is 6weeks old and was prescribed gaviscon two wks ago for his silent reflux. It worked a treat to start with, however over the last 2-3 days its effect seems to have worn off? He is on two sachets per 6oz bottle.
I took him to the gp today who really was so unhelpful and said there was absolutely nothing else he could take and to wait till he grows out of it :( my question is what else can I do or where else do I go from here! I really don't want to go back to how he was before but it looks like its going to

From what you say, I would definitely suggest that you investigate the tongue tie possibility further.

Where are you based?

Unlikely that the paed will have specialist knowledge either btw.

Tongue tie can, in some cases, have far reaching consequences affecting the whole body, so please don't ignore it!

I'm in Leicestershire! Will definitely ask the paed to have a good look and tell him the symptoms that mite suggest he does av one! Out of the two i wud rather it be tt! Gp said he will request for us to be seen sooner rather than later but still doubt it will be this week :(

I would also suggest that you ask to join the tongue tie babies support group on facebook. There are loads of mothers on there going through the same thing, and you can post photos for opinions, but obviously not diagnosis, that can only be done in the flesh really.

So glad to hear that you got referred and i hope the appointment is soon. Once we started using Omeprazole it was like having a totally different baby.

Well here's hoping the paed will be a lot more understanding abd helpful than the gp's! We've had such a bad day today :( just hope there is light at the end of the tunnel (fingers and toes crossed)
