Help and advice please! Dd is nearly 1 and ebf (she did take a bottle of expressed milk early on but haven't done that for a while). She's down to 2 feeds a day which works well as I feed her before work and as she goes to bed, she's at home with dh during day atm.

she has top and bottom 4 teeth (8 in total) and although shes given me the odd nip and clampdown previously she's never bitten like she does now. We're assuming she's teething as chewing a lot but she won't let us look in her mouth.

Anyway it's got to the point where I am really struggling to feed her. The last two night I havent been able to as she is consistently biting me so hard and not letting go. Yesterday morning she was still quite dozy so after one bite she settled to feed normally. This morning she was too awake and screaming so tried expressing into a sippy cup but she wouldn't have more than a couple of sips, then tried a bottle but she just bites the teat and won't suck. Dh resorted to using calpol syringe (after calpol) to get some milk in but she screamed until right at the end. I tried the syringe last night and was only able to get a tiny bit of milk in as she was screaming and got herself massively worked up in an overtired and hungry way.

She still needs milk though and I have a feeling she might havea reaction to cows milk albeit mild. We'd noticed she seemed to get a rash round her face sfter yoghurt so cut that out for a bit. She eats cheese no bother though! The last couple of days she had more cows milk than normal and seemed to have the rash again last night. I know she shouldn'thave it as a drink bbefore 1 but didnt think there was a magic switch at that point (she's 2 weeks away from 1)!

Am going to keep expressing - any advice on how to get her to take milk from sippy or doidy cup? How long will this last - has she forgotten how to nurse, is this it for me? Bit upset tbh as not only worried about dd not getting milk but also with being a work feeding her was quite important to me. She seems to still want to but then bites and cries because the milk doesnt come out!

Any hrlp much appreciated!

Hi there, my DD is a biter too. Whenever she gets a new tooth she likes to bite me and no matter what I've tried she'll bite me for a few days and then just stops. I get to the point where I'm so sore and tearful I just want to give up and then she stops. I make sure I'm very forceful, say no and then immeditately stop. I wish I had some other advice, but I just wanted to let you know you aren't alone.

As far as the cow's milk goes, I'm not sure what the normal allergy is, but I think it tends to be digestive instead of a rash, isn't it?

Hopefully someone else will come around with some more advice for you.
