Dental treatment

I have to have some dental work done next week (gulp) and will be having as much pain relief as I can get - is there any concerns re breastmilk? It'll be the local anaesthetic into my gum, so it won't pass into my milk will it?

The anaesthetic will have no effect on your milk. Even if it was a general anaesthetic, it wouldn't matter a bit. Mothers bf after a section with a GA, and their babies are brand new

Oh God, of course they do Tiktok, how stupid of me!
Its not the pain Twiglett - and the nip chewing was bloody painful to start with! - its the fear, I bloody hate the dentist

Oh well, will have to search for another excuse not to go

No bother Lisa, hope it goes well. I am terrified of the dentist but jasper (who is the MN dentist, or at least it seems that way) persuaded me to go and in the lat 3 weeks I've had 2 lots of root extractions done (I had allowed 3 teeth to crumble in my mouth rather than go to the dentist I was so afraid.)
I'm fully breastfeeding dd2 who is 11 weeks and there's been no effect on her. One more extraction and 2 fillings to be replaced and that'll be it. and like twiglett said - it's all free for now!
Hope it goes well - think of the gorgeous gnashers you will have
