Omneo Comfort formula - preparation

I'm thinking of changing to Omneo comfort for dd as she is quite a sicky baby and i've heard it can help. Someone said you have to add the formula to hot water which is a bit of a pain as the the mo i fill the bottles with water, leave them on the side and then add formula when needed (so water by then is at room temperaure) Anyone know if it's ok to use omneo with cool water? And anyone got any opinions on this formula?

It doesn't mix properly if it is with cool water. I used it on DD for a bit (this is 3 years ago now )... didn't do much for her except very thick poo - tbh though, I don't remember why I put her on it in the first place - she wasn't a sicky baby!

Am not sure who told you about the hot water thing, but that makes no sense - the advice is to mix the formula with cooled boiled water - I switched from regular C and G to the omneo comfort because DS (now 16 mo) was quite a windy baby - the switch made a huge difference and had a much happier baby - I never had a problem mixing it with cooled water, just give the mixture a good shake and should mix fine -

My ds had Omneo Comfort as well as the hv advised it when Aptamil made him so unwell and he was an incredibly sicky baby. I was told to make it with hot water as well .. so always part filled the bottles, left them on the side, topped up with a small amount of boiling water when needed and then added the formula - worked a treat! He never had any problems with it ... just horrific nappies when he first started on it!

THo the packet says make up with warm water i have mixed it using room temp water and a very vigorous shaking else get some lumps.

It is a partially broken down formula so easier for baby to digest.

it instructs you to leave the freshly boiled water to cool for 15 mins (or hand hot)before adding the formula then cooling straight away with cold water and storing in the fridge.... the warming process activates the enzymes in the milk to work that is why you must cool it the store in fridge to 'put on hold' the enzyme reaction.. reheating the milk in the usual way when needed re-activates the enzymes..... which is what helps your baby digeast the milk more effectively in the hope that it reduces the acid reflux/colic/posseting..... i have found that it works after nearly 8 weeks of a crabby crying sicky baby

So what preparing it when you're away from home? haven't seen any ready made cartons of omneo

I did the much the same thing as at home ... took a bottle half full of cold water, took the powder separately and a small thermos flask and just added the hot water and the powder ... hey presto! It saved worrying about whether it had been out of the fridge for too long etc.

I'm just a bit worried about mixing with cool water as the instructions say otherwise . Anyone els used it snd mixed with cool water - any problems and anyone know if it helps with reflux?

I mixed it with cooled boiled water and it mixed fine and DS never had any problems -
