Baby hasn't fed

Hi

My 3 month old had her last feed at 7.30 in the morning and has refused a feed ever since. I think she fed a couple of times at night. Is this normal? I'm getting worried Hmm

I've heard sometimes babies have nursing strikes -is she ok otherwise? peeing & pooing? I'm no expert btw but that's what I'd check first.

hopefully she's fed by now but have you tried some different positions? my three month old recently started refusing to feed unless we were both laying down.

Thanks! Eventually she did phew. I think she wants to be weaned

I am glad she's fed. Nursing strikes are horrible but not uncommon - they can happen for loads of reasons (teething, colds, stomach bugs, developmental stuff). I found the material on Kellymom useful. Babies don't self wean at such a young age btw, and these strikes are (in my experience) only temporary. Horrible nonetheless...

Keep a close eye on her, check her temperature if you can, too high and she won't feed if in doubt contact a doctor, if she is also hard to wake please see a doctor too, ds was v poorly at around 4wks and it started with reduced feeding, he was in hospital for a week! Do hope its just a blip but please don't feel you are doing anything wrong by seeing a doctor, a &e if necessary.
