Nipple eczema???

So, I was diagnosed with nipple thrush when ds was 2 weeks. He had the gel and I had cream and tablets, but with no improvement in a fortnight gp said it can't be thrush.

So with no attempts to figure out the real cause of a pair of itchy sore burning nipples and breast pain, I'm trying to think what else it could be.

Is there anyone who has nipple eczema? Can you get it this early and what did it feel like? I've had regular eczema all my life - so wonder if this could be that.

Thank you.

I had this, I used a mild steroid cream after feeds to alleviate it there is info on applying topical creams to the nipple area here www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/dibm/Creams_and_Ointments_and_Breastfeeding_March_2009.pdf

My doctor gave me fucibet I think which has a sterpid action and is antibiotic as well to clear up any infection and I used that in combination with an anti fungal which is what is in Jack Newmans all purpose nipple ointment (APNO) I believe.

Hope you get it sorted it drove me mental! Mine got worse again when we started solids but at 14 months have had no problems for a while.
