Question about expressing while away for a day

I'm going on a spa day on Saturday (I know, lucky me!) and will be leaving DS with DH and a load of EBM. I'm taking the pump to relieve any engorgement and keep my milk supply up but my question is about the milk that I get off.

Obviously I'll sterilise the pump equipment before I go but then I won't be able to sterlise it again when I'm there. Does that mean I'll have to throw away the milk that I get after that first load? Just seems a shame...

Has anyone else done something similar? If so, how did you handle it?

Thanks!

Think it has anti-bacterial qualities that will keep it ok for a while. Take a cool bag to store it in.

Take a cool bag, lots of ice packs, Lansinoh bags, a screw cap for the bottle you express into and a cover for the pump (assuming an Isis-type hand pump?).

Express, then put the cover on the pump, pour the milk into the Lansinoh bags and seal them, stick the lid on the bottle, then put the whole lot back into the cool bag before expressing again.

It'll all stay cold and be fine.

I used to express every day at work. I only sterilized pump once a day ... during the day I expressed 2 - 3 times and after each time I would rinse the pump equipment (it was medela one) with hot water. (I had access to one of those boilers which boils water all day, but I also used the hot tap if I was out of office.) After rinsing I used to put the pump equipment into a clean zip lock bag.
Re. the milk ... take a cool bag with cool pack in it. The milk will be fine. Even better, you could ask the spa if they would mid storing your cool bag in the fridge. (Did that once while I was at a work off-site for 36 hours... all very complicated!)
Re storing in bags or those avent throw away cups... I once had disaster where a whole cup leaked ... I was devestated to lose a whole pumping and never worked out why it didn't work ... after that I also stored milk in bottles and upright until I put in freezer
Have fun ... it sounds lovely!

Thank you all for your advice. The day was lovely and the spa was happy to store my milk in the bar fridge(!) till I came home. Glad no one ordered milkshake...
