Am I worrier over nothing

This is a bit embarrassing.
When I was pregnant with little one I had a small genital wart. That has now gone and little one is 6 months old. But I am so worried because I'm breastfeeding I will give genital warts to little one! I am OCD washing my hands when I have been to the toilet. I went to the doctor to check I didn't have any. They saw two tiny things which they said could be warts or skin tag but wasn't sure but nothing to worry about. But I can't stop worrying!
Am I just worrying to much?

Veryshy the virus that causes genital warts cannot reach the breastmilk and affect your baby - but I am not a doctor, and you need to be fully reassured by a doctor otherwise you will continue to worry. You need not be embarrassed - genital warts are very common and worrying about babies is also common :) If you really don't want to speak to your doctor, call your local GUM clinic and get them to reassure you.

I worrier so much about it. After I've been to the toilet I wash my hands like mad about three times! Hmm

Sorry - this is bonkers :( :( You are spoiling your enjoyment of your baby and this period of your life....for goodness sake, call the GUM clinic, put your mind at rest and start living without anxiety :)

Aside from the hand washing how else have you been coping? Anxious all the time, low mood, snappy, trouble sleeping, feeling of dread? Do consider whether you have postnatal anxiety or PND. it's not healthy to worry about this to such an extent especially after a medical professional has assured you it's fine. Good luck OP.

My head is always saying don't be so stupid. But I can't seem to stop my self. HmmHmmIt's only really the hand washing.

Why won't you call the GUM clinic and ask them?

Veryshy1 · 04/09/2013 11:45

Yea I'll do that.
