Signs of returning fertility

DS is 6m and started solids a few weeks back. EFB until then, still feeding about every 3hrs but sometimes goes 4 (very very rarely more).

I've had some mucus over the last month (the green slightly snotty kind rather than the very fertile stuff) and then this last week I've been nauseous, dizzy/light headed, and have had a weird feeling I normally associate with my period being on its way. Have felt some pressure where my ovary is also (only have one).

Does this sound like the return of my fertility? With DD I didn't get a cycle again until 12m when we totally stopped BF, but DS is eating a lot more solids than she ever did (he almost eats more than her already!).

What were your signs of returning fertility?

EBF offers zero contraception effect beyond six months, nor once other foods are introduced. And of course it's only about 85% effective even with perfect use when the baby is under 6 months.

So yes, it could well be returning fertility (which was symptomless for me). Unless you want another DC straight away, you need to use contraception from now onwards.

I got my period back when dd was 6mo as well, but it was after a dose of topical oestrogen that i'd been prescribed, and it came relatively unannounced! I stopped the oestrogen and didn't get periods again till dd was 11mo, this time I had sore breasts, hurt to breastfeed, ovulation pain and general bloatedness. It was very different from my usual symptoms, a lot duller, but it carried on for a week then I got it.

Dd has also been on solids since 6m but she's quite a difficult eater so we bf once every 2-3 hours to make up for it. It's probably a period if you think it is!

Hey Flowers, my dd is 13mths and a booby monster day and night so recently been Nightweaning to try and get my periods back ...waiting but it's only 3 wks....also got the green snotty stuff: do you know what that's a sign of?? X

I don't - every time I google it, I get told I have some horrible infection...

I think that the snot-like stuff is a precursor to the fertile stuff (from my TTC days): that it thins out as ovulation approaches. But I've no idea what the colour indicates...
