Is Nightweaning enough to get periods back?

Trying to get periods back...dd 1, mummy getting on etc...managed to nightwean this week (sticking to no feeds 11-6 as a min) and trying to cut down on feeds - big feeds breakfast and bedtime and prob one inbetween - will that be enough?? I just need to get a few periods done and dusted and then I can go back to IVF and frozen embryos. Think dd has rumbled me and at certain times positively refused to let go so I need to take it steady. Am so inpatient - only night weaned one week already getting bored waiting Smile The process of IVF takes months so plenty of time to gradually cut back more. Encouragement needed for all these nights of pretending water is yummy at 2am! Thanks.

Have no idea really but don't want to just read and run.
I guess everyone's cycle etc is so different it would be wrong to assume. I have a friend who was still feeding through the night and she feel pregnant while her dc was 5 months old so in her situation she certainly did regain her fertility. Good luck Smile HTH

It did for me. When my son started reliably sleeping from 7 til 7 with a dream feed at 10/11 (he was EBF and I expressed at about 9/9:30 for the dream feed which my husband gave) my period came back quite quickly.

Everyone is different I guess. But good luck!

Did for me! I'm now 20 weeks pregnant and DS is 8 months old. Was about age 14 weeks that he night weaned.

I was expressing so stopped expressing at nights then. Didnt even really have a "proper" period and pregnant next cycle.

I nightweaned to get my period back with first daughter (fed on demand/co-sleeper) at 2 years. But I got pregnant before it came.

Now my second is 2 I nightweaned but 3 months later no period.

I had Asherman's Syndrome before my children were born so I haven't had a period in about 7 years. Hoping I can segue into the menopause ....

Both times I only got them back when I stopped temporarily - so with ds1 I went on a hen do when he was 5 months, hand expressed only for about 36 hours to relieve the engorgement, then went back to feeding as normal and got period a week later. With ds2 he has just suddenly self-weaned at 11 months down from 3 feeds a day and I've started my period 4 days later. Unlike you I have enjoyed being rid of Auntie Flo and most annoyed at her return! Basically I think it's different for everyone. Hope it comes soon.
