BF toddler and going away

I have a trip coming up without 2 year old DS, and it will be our first time apart. Am slightly anxious about it as it is over how he will cope as he still bf at bedtimes and first thing in the morning (and all the hours in between if he can get away with it).

Anyone who has breastfed a toddler and gone away got any advice for me with regards to expressing? It's a five day trip and I don't get the feeling of fullness or engorgement anymore (if anything it's gone the other way!). Not sure if I will need to express whilst away but obviously don't want to end up in pain or with mastitis either.

I did a 5 day trip away when DS1 was around 2 and feeding morning and night - I definitely needed to pump, even though I never normally felt engorged at home. I pumped morning and evening, resumed feeding as normal when I got back no problem.

Thanks. I don't have a pump anymore but will hand express then. Am hoping to carry on feeding when I get back too . Might see if I can get a manual pump to take along. Shame all that milk will have to go down the drain!
