My 14mo DD had her last breastfeed 2 weeks ago. Although we'd gone right down to only feeding as needed to get sleep at night, I hadn't planned to stop then, so was a little
initially. But I guess it's the way things go sometimes and she's certainly not missing it so I think it's been the right thing.
We had a rocky start, what with a traumatic birth, delayed milk coming in and slow weight gain and then various little things along the way. I really honestly think I wouldn't have breastfed for this long, possibly at all, if it weren't for the wonderful support and advice I got from the lovely and knowledgable people on this board. So I just wanted to say a really heartfelt "thank you" and I hope the people that helped will read this.
I have learnt so much and have come to love breastfeeding and feel really passionately about it, which is quite unlike me! The whole process has inspired me to want to support other mums who find themselves in need of support like I did, so today I've got the information about doing a Breastfeeding Counsellor course and I hope I can start to give a bit back, having received so much help myself.
Thank you again - it's a wonderful thing that this board exists and so many people are happy to share their wisdom on it
