7 mo seems to have picked up a bug from me :( Explosive yellow liquidy poos after he has anything to eat and drink. Since Saturday morning.

Looked in the medical book and advice is to cut out dairy for 24 hrs. Not sure how to manage this as there is no way he will settle for the night without his 7pm and 11pm bottles. I tried to bf him recently at 7pm and got bitten cause I had no milk.

He is not dehydrated and seems happy in himself apart from screaming at nappy change. He has not lost his appetite at all tho am trying to keep him on the BRAT diet as far as solids are concerned.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. Should I try and get that soy based formula?? Replace formula with Dioralyte and see if he accepts it?

Did the medical book you have say why cutting out dairy for 24hrs would help? I've not come across that before for diarrhoea.

If you are breastfeeding, that is meant to be ideal for d&v, but it sounds like you have (recently?) stopped? If he doesn't tolerate formula then dioralyte would be better than water/nothing. If he's had it for 3 days maybe it's worth speaking to a GP, or NHS direct (or whatever it is these days!)?

Thanks Ex! The book was Birth & Beyond. It says a bug can make them temp lactose intolerant.

I don't have enough milk to substitute bf for ff in the evenings now. Got a doc app for something else on Thu morning so will ask them, thanks again for your response :)
