12 week old with no pattern

Is this normal? My baby is breastfed on demand, I thought there'd be more pattern by now. I know you shouldn't compare but my first baby had fallen into some kind of routine by now, though she was mixed fed by now.

Thanks

That is perfectly normal. Honest. Just keep doing what you're doing. bf on demand is very different from ff or mixed feeding abd as long as you abd her are both doing ok then you don't need to worry about a lack of pattern. Hers will likely be affected by her older sibling's routine, too, so it may take a while for the two to show any kind of pattern. hth

Thanks. She's feeding more again now too, just as age was managing to go a little bit longer between feeds. Is this normal?!

yes! Try looking at the book 'wonder weeks' there's an app too. It lists all the development stages and each of these is accompanied by changes in eating and sleeping. It's amazing how textbook babies are!

How often is your baby feeding? My 12 wo goes about 2 hours in between feeds during the day, and longer at night - maybe about 4/5 hours.

My 12 week old hasn't developed a pattern either. sometimes during the day it will be 2 hours between feeds (can be slightly longer if he's having a good nap) or only half an hour. nights are getting better - rather than 3/4 hours before waking up its more like 5/6.

I've only got the one to contend with so happy going with the flow Smile
