Anyone any ide why? I think our breastfeeding days are coming to an end. He is not interested in the day. He likes his nighttime feed. And normally has a morning feed. If he wakes in the night i offer a feed. Just to get him back off tosleep. But he oftens trys to feed but gags and comes off.Its almost like he is forgetting how to feed? It definitely not a problem with oversupply. If anythibg its undersupply. He feeds best at bedtime when i have most milk there.

Is he teething or could he have a throat or ear infection?

Sorry on holiday and been having difficulty getting reception. Yes he is teething a lot just now. Perhaps thats it.

From what you've said there is nothing at all that would point to low supply. By our supply would have been well established months ago and it would be unusual to start having problems now. Try him with ibruprofen and apply a teething gel, like dentinox directly before a feed. I'd also give one of the bfing helplines a call and speak to a BFC. If its the same tomorrow I'd be tempted to see the GP and ask for his ears, throat and tummy to be checked Smile

How are you getting on now peanut?

peanutbuttersarnies · 23/08/2013 13:26

He hasnt been gagging so much. I think it may have been his teeth bothering him. Also i sometimes feed him in the night when he is not actually hungry. Just cos i want him to go back to sleep! I wonder if he gags cos he just doesny want to feed then. He doesnt really comfort feed any more.
We are home from holiday today. If it persists any more i will take him to doc.
Thanks
