Hand expressing - what do they mean by "rolling"

DD has a crusty eye and I've been told a wee squirt of BM should work a treat. Is seems a faff to use a pump and I was told squirting it in directly works well anyway Shock. I have small breasts so all of the video clips I've found seem a bit alien as the women have huge nipples compared to me! I found a few step by step guides but they all stress you must roll and not squeeze. Am pretty sure am squeezing Hmm

Can anyone describe the rolling motion to me as I just don't get it [thicko]

That's a little different from what I'd heard- I'd been told you should squeeze, but not move your hand along the skin while you do it- so squeezing like on a full toothpaste bottle, rather than an empty one, if that makes any sense? You may have seen them already, but I found the instructions in this leaflet helpful. Hope your DD's eye is better soon.

Thank you. I just can't seem to get it at all! Don't want to do any damage so not sure if I should just give up.

I think they just mean, don't grab a hunk of boob and squeeze like you're a 19 year old who's just seen his first real pair Grin

It is a squeeze but it's more gentle - basically, you're trying to use the breast tissue & fat which is the outer layer, to squeeze milk along a tube which is underneath this fatty layer. If that makes ANY sense at all.

If you firmly slide your thumb and forefinger down in a c shape you should feel a change in texture, like little lumps, or pearls. This is where you need to squeeze, you need slow rhythmic squeezes. I find it much easier than using a pump but it might take a bit of practice at first.
