tongue tie at 17 weeks

So after weeks of slow weight gain from 91st to 25th percentile, Increased fussiness at the breast, and lots of worrying from mum, my 17 week old dd has been diagnosed with a tongue tie after I took her to a private lactation consultant

Feel so relieved that I trusted my instincts and knew something wasn't right. Just annoyed this wasn't picked up sooner despite going to my local nhs breast feeding clinic half a dozen times. As well as hv and gp who had diagnosed reflux.

And as she is older than 16 weeks I will need to go private to get the tongue tie snipped.

So this part rant part encouragement for others suffering with fussy feeders and part enquiry has anyone else had tt done late on and how your lo one afterwards

Well done for persevering. I couldn't take the pain of TT and lip tie and gave up at 4 weeks (didn't know then what the problem was). I posted on here when DD was about 19 weeks about my sadness on giving up BF so early. I'd even thought about trying to re-lactate, but decided against it because frankly it would have been solely for my own benefit by then (she's a brilliant sleeper, eater etc). Instead I'm trying to persuade browbeat DP into having another DC instead and give it another go with the second!!!
