8 week old help

My ds is 8 weeks and we are currently ebf, on demand.
This last couple of days he has been fussing at breast, and pulling away a lot. He has been getting griping tummy pains so not sure if the 2 are linked? He has a dummy which is the only thing that is settling him at the minute. Not sure if that is then making it worse? I managed to give a couple of feeds today by making sure he was at a good angle so head higher than body which worked for 2 feeds but not helping now. Any ideas?

Could be the 8 wk growth spurt. Often makes them fussy as they're trying to up your supply. Good info on the Kellymom website on growth spurts and, if it's not that, also on fussy feeding. As it could really be all manner of things!

I'd ring one of the [http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/breastfeeding-help-support.aspx#close Helplines]] in the morning. The numbers are at the bottom of the page.Smile

Not sure on it being a growth spurt. I thought the next one was due at around 12 weeks.

Will he settle if you feed him? Has he been checked for tongue tie?

Littlemissexpecting · 12/08/2013 22:53

If its tongue tie wouldn't we have had problems before now?

I'm not trained, which is why I think its best you talk to a BFC but my DS had tt. Sometimes his feeding was great, other times he was screaming. A BFC might be able to offer some suggestions Smile

Sorry I didn't do the link properly before, its here.

Will give them a try thank you.
