Am I expressing too much

I am on 2nd day of stopping breastfeeding, I am hardly feeing my 6 month old as we've pretty much gone onto her nutrimegm formula and she 9/10 refuses to feed off me.
I am nervous about getting an infection so am expressing bits when I am full just wondering if these amounts seem excessive as I know production is based on a supply and demand basis ( since about 3 months have been expressing about 18 oz between each feed and giving them by bottle so I know my supply is high)

So day 1 expressed between 11pm Saturday till 10pm Sunday with 2 actual feeds inbetween 9oz expressed not in 1 go, about 4 lots of 2 oz using both breast.
Is this too much ? I get very uncomfortable and worry they will get infected but am I just being soft. I really want to stop so just want some advice really.

Thank you lovelies xx

If I were you I would just express enough to make you comfortable, remember the supply and demand - you want to get a little bit full, this is where FIL (feedback Inhibition of Lactation) process works, so being full tells your body to make less milk. But expressing enough so you don't get a blocked duct won't hurt really.

I personally would avoid the pump, I found that hand expressing in the shower was best. But as it is, it won't matter if you continue to make a little milk for a while and you can gradually wean down how much you're making, if you're happy to do it.

You could try the old cabbage in your bra trick too.
