My ds, who is 11 months old and is breast fed, seems most uninterested in my milk now. He has a good appetite for solid food, and until recently, a good appetite for four breast feeds a day. He's just virtually ignored his bedtime feed, and instead, crawled over to his beaker of water and finished that off instead Sad. I still give him a dream feed at about 11pm, so should I stop that so that he's hungrier for milk in the morning? And is it okay that he seems to be getting minimal milk during the day?

My DS is 12 months old and went off milk when he was about nine months old (although he was bottle fed). He has an 8ox bottle first thing in the morning and that is it. He has three meals a day and drinks mainly water, with juice at mealtime. No matter how I cut back on solid food, he just did not want anymore milk apart from the morning one, so I would say you DS is doing just fine. Does he just plenty of calcium from his diet?

Yes, he gets plenty of calcium - cows milk in breakfast, yoghurt at lunch and cheese until the cows come home!
I just worry that he won't get enough as it was such a struggle to bf in the first place. Plus I'd fondly imagined myself feeding until he was two! Perhaps ds should read the WHO guidelines.

my dd2 weaned herself slowly at about 10 months, she seemed not in the least bothered by my milk at all, I just made sure that she had lots of calcium in her food and went with it
