No idea sorry. Could you be pg...Grin

Are they red? Could be start of mastitis...
Otherwise perhaps you have reacted to the breast pads you are using? I could never use any of the throw away ones as they made me ITCH like mad - truly truly awful. Felt like i was losing my mind.

I bought little lamb washable ones in the end from the nappylady online. Amazingly soft and no itching.
Hope my story helps.

Thrush? Are they itchy all over and under your arm pits, or just the nipple? Could you have reacted to something like a new bra?

anyname2011 · 12/08/2013 17:26

Damn u jjj! :) will poas to put mind at rest but really don't think so.
They have calmed down now anyway. Have formed theory, was not feeding toddler much through the week as working long hours, then off fri- mon, with her constantly, and lots of feeding. So yes, might have been a mastitis/thrush something which was averted by toddler's feeding frenzy.

Sorry for not coming back, was away all weekend and as soon as they stopped itching, I stopped worrying!
Thank you all though

Glad everything is ok and without any unexpected little surprises Smile

it seems to be a blocked duct. itch came back today. mostly right side, and now i have a very sore red lump on the top right of my breast. paracetemol, massage, hot water bottle, and am trying to pump without success. baby sleeping (annoying to be awake, she is a terrible sleeper normally!) but i think she was less keen to feed off that side earlier tonight. it's very sore!

Oh no :-(

No advice, but just seen your update, how annoying. Hope it gets better soon. Can you hand express if your not having any luck with pump?

anyname2011 · 15/08/2013 13:05

Thank u for the sympathy! Was feeling very sorry for myself. Went back to bed and 'accidentally' woke baby (there's a first!) and got some relief when she fed. In work now so hand expressing on the agenda, doesn't seem to be getting any worse thank g but have that up my sleeve if it does. Never had much luck with that before but have proper motivation now!
