Know this has been done a gazzillion times before, but reassure me wine is ok, whilst bfing... I have a couple of glasses each night, usually after ds2 has crashed out for his longest stretch. But he has horrid green poo and has for a few weeks now, and the old mother guilt thing is linking the two! So, am I doing something awful to his insides? Or has the guilt got the betterof me again??

I have a few drinks in the evening but am lucky because he sleeps right through to the morning and has done from being tiny. How long is there between drinking the wine and him feeding? IIRC you process a unit an hour so a couple of glasses of wine is only 4 or 5 units so must be fine.

I found wine gave dd the runs too, something about grapes...
I had a guinness or two, or a couple of weak pimms!
I'm not sure it's great to have it every day though?

I never had a problem having a glass or two of wine. I usually fed DS about 5hours later so it was well out of my system.

AFAIK, only 2% of alcohol gets through to breastmilk, so I think that 2 glasses of wine (300ml) at 12% volume would be 36mls and then 2% of that would be 0.72ml. Which is a tiny amount. Someone correct me on that calculation if necessary - that's the way I always worked it out. not that I calculated it often! Grin
