I have a bug dd1(2) had it very early sunday morning, she is fine now. Dp came down yesterday I have started this afternoon. I understand it is perfectly fine to carry on bf? Dd2 is 4.5 months I havn't tried eating or drinking yet how is my supply going to be effected? What do I do if dd2 gets it just carry on feeding?

Poor you! We all had a D&V bug when DD was about the same age, it's awful.

But yes, just carry on feeding as normal while you have it and if she gets it. Obviously try and keep fluids up and eat something, but don't worry too much about supply.

Yes carry on. We had a D&V bug when DS was 9 weeks and I was BF. DH had to hold the bucket for me to be sick whilst I was feeding him, but the BF immunity benefits were incredible - DS didn't have as much as a slightly runny nappy the whole time!

If the baby does get the bug then BF is absolutely the best thing, as even though they're bringing stuff up, breastmilk is designed to be easily absorbed so they will still get some goodness. Your supply shouldn't be affected.

Hope you feel better soon, have been in that situation and it's rubbish.

Be careful. I ended up in hospital with severe dehydration after continuing to breastfeed when I was sick. If you can't keep liquids down limit the amount you feed and keep trying to drink water or suck ice cubes. My supply has gone down when I've had bugs but has always bounced back quickly so don't worry about that- just watch out for blocked ducts/mastitis if you feed less and for dehydration if you don't. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks I thought I was fine to continue just wanted to make sure. I am drinking judt little sips enough to wet my mouth. Might have to send dp out for emergency back up anyway I'm finding it hard to stay away from the bathroom. Dp and dd had it for 24 hours give or take hopefull.

I had norovirus when feeding dd3 and it was fine to carry on but yes be careful you are taking in enough fluid.
