'thrashing about' and falling asleep while feeding

Hi. My 14wk old daughter seems to be hungry but to spit out my nipple then grab it back then spit it out during feeds and I'm concerned she isn't getting enough to eat. She seems to settle sometimes if I burp her, but it seems to be taking an awful long time for her to feed and she often falls asleep with my nipple still firmly clamped in her mouth! This is my first baby so I have no idea if it's normal or not.
Thanks, Sox

Fannying around at the boob is sadly perfectly normal. When they clamp their gums around the nipple then jerk their head back is my favourite.

Lol! Thanks, she does a lot of that too. And usually laughs at me. She seems to laugh at me every time she throws up/poos/wees on me... Sigh :)

Babies sometimes tug at the breast and go on and off like that to up the milk supplies. All my babies have fallen asleep while feeding, they tend to fall off when in a deep sleep.

Could she be a windy baby?

My ds 5 weeker does this comes off breast and is agitated until winded.

Sounds normal to me. My favourite is also the L'Oreal head flick, whilst still gripping your nipple. Ouch!!!!
Have you tried the biological nurturing position? (Google it for pics) this seemed to help my DS get more comfortable - both of us reclined on a bed surrounded by cushions. That & 4 visits to an osteopath!
Best of luck.
