Sick!!

I'm currently bottle feeding my 4 week old son and he's sick after every feed. He first brings up a few mouthfuls of milk then it becomes thicker and almost a different texture. He's usually sick straight after the feed for about an hour, sometimes longer. HV isn't too concerned as he doesn't seem to be in any discomfort while he's being sick, but i can't help but think this isn't a normal amount to be bringing up after every feed (3hourly!)
Any advice on what I can do to make it better or have I just got to get on with it?

Have you tried offering him less milk at each feed, and feeding 2 hourly rather than 3? It could just be that he's taking too much at a feed. Also check he's bringing up all his wind, not got any trapped (often more than one burp needs to come up!)

Agree with rock. It might be also worth changing LOs milk, things might improve if you swap brands. It might also be worth trying to keep him upright for an hour after a feed. If he is asleep in his cot or Moses basket try propping it up a bit at the head end. Telephone directories are good Smile

Is he gaining weight?
It is amazing how much it looks like they are bringing up when actually it is not as much as you might think.
If he is gaining weight and not in any discomfort I would try to worry less.
Some good advice

My boy did this when I switched to bottles, turns out I wasn't winding him enough, I needed to do it more through the feed and not just at the end of the feed.

Do you stop and burp during the feed, every 1-2 oz and at the end. I found you need to burp for longer than you think after the feed. I also burp in a few different positions, on my lap, over my shoulder, over my knees ect Smile. Even now at 7 months I still burp DD once during the feed and at the end.

He's gainging plenty of weight, I think I'm just over thinking it! He seems a lot better with it today and I'm taking more time to wind him, so maybe it was that. Thanks guys :)
