Breastfeeding question

I FF my DD but I'm planning to BF this time round, something occurred to me and it's probably a stupid thing to ask.

Do you wind a BF baby?

Reason I ask is I've no experience of family or friends breastfeeding, so haven't seen first hand or seen it mentioned anywhere. I'd assumed you didn't wind them because the baby wouldn't of been swallowing any air like a baby with a bottle can as my understanding is once they're latched on a seal is formed.

Is that right or will I still wind my BF baby.

Many thanks.

I was reliably told that bf babies don't need winding, but it depends entirely on the baby. My bf DC needed winding from a few days old, though not as much as my ff DC, worth trying if you have a crying baby!

I wind my bf baby, especially when he was newborn. The older he gets (now 6 months) the more I forget to. From what I've observed from my friends bf babies need winding less, but they do still need winding.

Good luck this time round with the feeding!

You do still wind a breastfed baby, but sometimes no burp will appear, or it will just be a little tiny burp.

Thank you everyone.

Now I'm glad I asked.
