avent milk powder container

Instructions for the blue avent milk powder container say it needs to be sterilised before each use. can't see why this is necessary as the containers you buy the mild poweder in aren't sterile once opened. Does anyone else sterilise the avent container each time they use it?

I had the clear one and dont remember it saying it had to be sterilised. I certainly never sterilised it myself - as you say the powder and scoop isnt sterile anyway so what would be the point?! A good wash in hot soapy water and drying with kitchen roll would be quite sufficient. (kitchen roll is more hygienic than using a towel)

Agreed - they're devils for getting dry (which I think is more important than them being sterile). Kitchen roll!

no I don't sterilise my container.

phew, that's reassuring!

I just bought this and I did sterilise. How silly is that?
Once you have sterilised it it is wet so you have to dry it - with something that isn't sterile. I used kitchen roll.

Won't bother sterilising in future.
