Can I please have some positive stories of your baby taking a bottle later. My baby is 10 weeks and we've been trying her on a bottle the last few days...it's not going well. Please give me some advice, positive stories of it working!

Thanks!

We had difficulties around that age too. After reading/trying all the tips and advice going we gave up for a bit then retried a few months later and she was fine. I think she was about 5 or 6 months.

Am I better off leaving it then? Or should we keep at it? I need all the tips/advice going!

So many bad memories... So many bottles of ebf down the sink... I wouldn't bother next time tbh. At 4 months we started trying a beaker so by 8 months I could move some feeds onto it. Have up bf about 9 months and that's how he has had all milk since (lots if it).

He didn't take a bottle after about 6 weeks old and I wasn't prepared to starve him into it - don't regret it at all. It wasn't forever, though very annoying at the time.

I would keep trying at this stage. Some of my friends babies took a few weeks to get it but then were really good. If you can afford to, try different teats to find one that suits your baby. Two of my friends found nuk worked best.

I think it helps if someone other than mum can try and give the bottle and also if it can be when the baby is hungry but not starving. Don't expect them to take loads at first. Just a couple of ounces would be a good start.

I'd say keep going for a bit but then if its not working stop and try again in a couple of weeks. If it gets to 5 months I would say give up and try to introduce a sippy cup alongside weaning.

It's not the end of the world if they don't take a bottle. Mine never did and the time really does pass quite quickly in hindsight. And at least you won't have the problem of weaning them off a bottle if that us the case!

My LO took a bottle really well until 8 weeks then just steamed the place down every time we tried. Now at 15 weeks she will take a bottle without too much of a fuss. It was a lot of trial and error but we found MAM bottles best as the teat is very soft, milk nice and warm and sit her up on bumbo/ bouncy chair. She will actually take it better from me than anyone else and I find singing a wee song as she feeds helps. Hope you get it cracked soon!
