Forgotten how to latch?

My 6 day old DS seems to forgotten how to latch on.

I've had no problems bf-ing him so far. Plenty of nappies, no sore nipples, can see/hear swallowing and he has already put on 4oz since birth.

But since last night, he has taken him
10+ mins to latch on. Once he manages to get on, it's fine.

This only started yesterday and he gets really frustrated. Is there anything I can do? I don't understand how he can suddenly forget how to do it when he's been been doing it for the last 5 days.

Do your boobs feel engorged? Sometimes when mine got a bit too full DD had difficulty latching on. It helped just to hand express a few drops before trying to feed her.

No, we're past that engorgement stage now, so it can't be that.

He was fine again today, but started not latching again this evening. I really don't understand what's going on. it makes me feel helpless watching him struggling.

I gave my baby a bottle of expressed milk and after that he forgot how to breast feed but i stripped him down to his nappy and i whipped my top off for some skin to skin and that sorted him out.
