My DD is 15wks old and EBF. We had no problems before apart from a blocked duct which cleared itself.
But the past 2 weeks I've been in so much pain when feeding her. I've got a few cracks on both my nipples and its so painful. I'm not sure if her latch or not.

I'm trying to go back to basics to try and correct her latch (nose to nipple etc) but I'm having trouble getting it right. I feel like a complete beginner and I don't know what to do. I'm starting to dread feeding her because of the pain.

Please Help! What should I do about her latch? What's the best thing to do about sore nipples? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I strongly recommend Kamillosan for the cracked nipples. Brilliant stuff.

I smothered my nipples in lanolin cream and wore these to try and protect my nipples when I wasn't feeding and to also allow some air to them as the pads kept sticking -www.mothercare.com/Philips-Avent-ISIS-Comfort-Breast-Shell-Set---2-Pack/494359,default,pd.html

Thanks. I forgot about lanolin. I think I have some lansinoh from when I bf DS but that was 2yrs ago now. Anyone know if I can still use it?
Thanks josephinium how well did the breast shells work? Did it help them heal quicker?
Anyone got any advice for latching on? Should my nipple should be pointing towards the back of her mouth or towards the top? I can't remember Confused

Definitely help me, plus they collect excess milk which has a healing property as well. With regards to latching on you want your nipple at the baby's nose as you said and you want the nipple to point up towards the roof of baby's mouth.

Hydrogel pads are very soothing, promote healing and prevent infection entering your body through any cracks. Amazing from the fridge!
