Eight Month Old Cutting Back Feeds

Exactly what the title says! She's cutting back on her breastfeeding and I'm not that happy about it!

She is down to first thing 5-10 mins, before morning nap 5 mins, the calmest feed of the day, after lunchtime nap another 5-10mins and the same before bed. A couple more oz of BM goes in in porridge or a cup. She's on three meals a day and a big fan of solid food but I'm worried she's not getting enough milk and that if she suddenly wants more I won't be able to provide!

Any experiences anyone?

I wouldn't worry, sounds normal to me. Only my experience but same thing happened to me. At 8 months mine did milk when he woke, in the afternoon and before bed and that was it. If he got ill he'd refuse all solids and be ebf and I always had enough.

Having very similar experience so curious to see what people turn up and say. I'm convinced she's weaning too fast too

DD is 9m and doing virtually the same.. plus 1x 5/6am early feed of 5-10min. she eats 3small meals plus finger foods a day and has little water from a sippy cup too. im sure shes getting enough but sad that she doesnt want to snuggle and feed with me much anymore!

DS cut down to almost that. Then we had a vomiting bug, & he went back to quaffing bm by the gallon. Then he started eating more again & drinking less, then it got hot & he decided milk was better than pasta...basically he seems to be varying quite a bit, but my supply seems to keep up somehow.

My bottle fed 7.5mo is doing exactly the same. He's also a huge fan of his solids. Must just be growing up Sad

Dd doin exactly the same. Now 9mo but was doing this at 8 mo. I think they are pretty efficient at feeing by now so even a short feed is a reasonable amount of milk.
