express now and try a bottle? dont know why I want to do this though, just to give me a break I suppose, will it muck up supply?

also is it normal for breasts to be soft now instead of full of milk?

In answer to your second question enid, yes - breasts should be soft now as your body is able to regulate supply rather than stuffing you with milk at every opportunity Grin

Re. your first question - I would have thought 6 weeks was old enough to prevent problems with nipple confusion occurring, but tbh if you are not sure why you are doing it then I wouldn't bother tbh! I used to express some milk for ds to put in his food as I started weaning him at 5 months, but tbh I found it a time-consuming, PITA and I was very glad to stop.

If you are not sure, then see if you can borrow a pump as I did before you commit yourself to spending on one.

It fine enid, the amount that gets into your bm in miniscule! and beside as long as your not doing it on a regular basis it will be fine.

I used to save up for a night out. would hand express whilst the chap was feeding till I had about 2 four onz bottles(frozen) then have a drink or 12 give the bottle as the night time feed express after I'd finished drinking and carried on as normal.

Miaou · 07/06/2006 13:30

well i had four gins on monday night and ds was none the worse for it! Half a bottle would be fine, as chapsmum says so little is passed on.

ps I don't make a habit of it - god I sound like a lush now!!!
