Been ebf my 6.5 month old DD since she was born. Have not had any issues apart from the usual at the beginning. She still feeds in the night but sleeps very well.

Last night she woke twice and I fed her. She didn't take much in and went straight back to sleep. Woke up this morning with full heavy breasts. Have fed her 3 times today and again she has not taken much in as my breasts are still full. They haven't emptied once today. She has had her normal porridge at 10.30 and gulped that down. She is happy in herself, has played and napped as normal. No temeperature, and is definitely not teething.....so I'm not sure what is going on?

Looking for any advice really? Will this continue? Shall I express some to relieve the pressure or will it mess up supply?

If the pressure gets too much Id express a little just to make it more comfortable perhaps, im no expert but Id say at this age / stage your supply can easily adjust if she decides she wants more so Id just go with the flow (pardon the pun). I think DS2 went through a bit of a weird phase where he'd hardly eat / drink one day, then the next hed be a greedy little guts.

I had this issue yesterday with my 3 month old. She did v short feeds and no more frequently than usual. I put it down to the hot weather and hand expressed a bit for comfort. She's back to normal today although still being a right moody pita in other ways, which I'm also hoping is just the heat

Thanks both. DD emptied both breasts at bed time yesterday. They filled up again over night. Just one, very quick feed at 4am. And this morning she has again emptied both. Thank god. They were getting particularly uncomfortable even after expressing some. Hopefully things will return to normal.
