Milk and toddler

Dd is now drinking very little milk. She doesn't have any during the day and at night (before bed) she's now drinking a max of 100ml. This is all led by her I haven't tried to stop her drinking it.

I'm aware she needs calcium but does she need milk for anything else?

If not, what should I be trying to get her to eat and how much?

Hi Strange, has she got plenty of cheese and yoghurt in her diet? That counts towards towards total daily milk intake. Some children do naturally reduce their milk intake, you can't force her to drink it if she doesn't want it and maybe she'll drink more again later down the line. I know my DD (13m) is drinking less milk & more water atm because of the hot weather.

Ah that's a good idea ill offer more yogurt. I don't really mind if she reduces I just wasn't sure if it was important she doesn't.

Thanks!

Also cheese sauce on pasta, veg or fish, backed spud with soured cream, that kind of thing. As long as you're using whole milk (they need the fat!) that kind of thing all adds up Smile

Oh that's a brill idea! Will do that, thanks!
