scar on nipple

Am pg with 3rd & have quite a large white (& very attractive obviously!) scar on one of my nipples after a nasty bleeding nipple from bf 2nd baby. Am just wondering whether this is going to cause problems, ie automatically be prone to splitting etc, & should I use a nipple shield from the start when bf this baby? Anyone else had this?

that's good to hear Californifrau - well not about your nipple being canibalised but that it didn't present further probs! Feel less anxious about it now, thanks
