Painful boob

Yesterday morning I woke with a particularly full boob after ds slept for longer than usual & I did his first night feed on the other side. I fed him on the the full achy side & have kept putting him to that side as much as possible to make sure he's removing the milk but by yesterday evening it was still painful. I tried expressing after he went to sleep to see if that would help but hasn't & I've fed him mainly from that side tgrough the night. This morning it still hurts & is tender to touch. Theres no lumps that I can feel, no visible red patches just pain & pain when he latches (there wasn't before) & when expressing. Any thoughts on what this is & how to help it?

i used to find after being painfully engorged the boob still felt a bit 'bruised' for want of a better word, for a day or so.but if you have the slightest feeling itis mastitis ie milk not coming from some of the ducts or flueyness get to doctor asap
